⚠️ Motor Jam Warning
If the motor becomes jammed, do not continue pressing the power button — doing so may damage the board or burn out the motor.
Instead, identify and fix the cause of the jamming:
- Paint buildup on the guides can cause sticking — clean and lubricate with silicone grease.
- Chain tension may be too loose — you can remove one or two chain links to tighten it.
- On some chains with screws, loose screws can come out and jam the mechanism — you’ll need to access the affected area, usually by removing the gear cover to inspect the chain.
🔋 “Low Battery” Message
If you see a Low Battery message but you’re sure the batteries are fully charged:
- Check battery orientation – Refer to the PDF guide to ensure correct placement.
- Check battery fit:
- If the batteries fit too tightly, the body may flex and cause poor contact, especially with the center cell. Try gently bending the contacts to make the batteries fit slightly looser. See the video for guidance.
- If the batteries fit too loosely, contact may again be poor. In this case, slightly bend the contacts outward so they press better against the battery terminals. See the video for guidance.
Note: 18650 batteries vary slightly in size. Both flat-top and button-top types are supported, but fit may affect additional adjustment.
🔌 AlexGeekBoard Won’t Power On
If your board doesn’t turn on at all:
- Check all connections — a wire may have come loose.
- If everything looks connected, disconnect all connectors from the board and inspect the pins inside the board’s sockets.
- Occasionally, pins may bend during insertion and cause a short circuit.
- Use a fine tool (e.g. tweezers or a toothpick) to gently straighten any bent pins.
